CAMP LCS 2025: Joy, Leadership, Faith & Community in Action

This summer marked Year 4 of CAMP LCS… and what a summer it was! From the first wave of excitement on opening day of Week A (June 30–July 4) to the final chapel at the end of Week C (July 14–18), the Elementary Campus was filled with energy, laughter, and joy.

The Power of the Hi-Five

At CAMP LCS, something as simple as a hi-five carries deep meaning. From the moment campers enter CAMP LCS, they are greeted with enthusiasm, encouragement, and open arms.

Every hi-five says: You belong here. You are important. You are part of something bigger than yourself.

This small but powerful gesture sets the tone for the week. It breaks down walls, builds instant connection, and creates a culture of joy and belonging. It’s not just a fun tradition; it’s a reflection of how we want every camper to experience God’s love in a real and tangible way.

“Being newer to faith as parents, and this also being very new to our kids, this week melted my heart. The welcome, the high fives , the energy, the love! There is so much beauty in seeing our kids so cared for, and seeing everyone as a valued friend within a community. Being reminded to serve one another, love one another and pray for one another are truly life changing lessons and reminders. Our kids are already asking to return next year, and be leaders when they grow up!”

CAMP LCS PARENT

Looking back, it’s amazing to see what God has done at CAMP LCS these past four summers:

  • Year 1 (2022): 246 campers | 36 staff & volunteers
  • Year 2 (2023): 325 campers | 83 staff & volunteers
  • Year 3 (2024): 410 campers | 105 staff & volunteers
  • Year 4 (2025): 375 campers | 46 LITs | 56 staff & volunteers

I was so impressed with the attentiveness and dedication of the staff and camp leaders. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the leaders genuinely cared about each child. This was especially important to our family since my children don’t yet attend the school and were a little nervous to make new connections. Our minds were quickly put at ease. It’s rare to find a camp where kids can have so much fun and deepen their faith in God all at once.

A parent of Campers

What started as a dream has grown into a thriving community of campers, leaders, and families who come together each summer to learn, grow, and encounter God in new ways.

CAMP LCS isn’t just about games, songs, and activities—it’s about relationships. It’s about high school students learning to lead, kids making new friends, and families seeing the joy on their children’s faces at pick-up.

It’s about living out the mission of Langley Christian School by creating a space where faith and fun come together in powerful ways.

As we wrap up 2025, we celebrate not just the numbers, but the countless stories of connection, transformation, and joy—all sparked by an experience designed to change lives.

“The leaders’ excitement and fervour for Jesus made a real impact on my boys, as they requested camp songs for our car ride home. Their prayers have also gotten more specific and inclusive, and I’ve loved seeing their deepening of faith.”

A Parent of campers

In this special episode of LCS Talks, Kevin sits down with Regan Davis and Cody Friesen—our Summer Program and Camp Directors—as well as three student leaders, Vienna, Ryan, and Kaylee.

Together, they reflect on how CAMP LCS has become a place where students and families are equipped in a courageous and purposeful faith. From leadership growth to life-changing community moments, this conversation captures the heart of why CAMP LCS matters.

Thank you to every camper, leader, volunteer, and family who made CAMP LCS possible this summer. We can’t wait for Year 5!
