Expanding God’s Mission
The LCS Story
Located in the heart of Langley, one of Canada’s fastest growing cities, Langley Christian School’s story began in 1955 as a small elementary school founded by immigrant families with a vision to integrate faith learning into the education of their children while creating a challenging and affirming environment within the greater community: a family of families.
The school’s founders wanted to provide a distinctive, relevant and engaging Christian education. Encouraging students to view their world through a Christian perspective would not only nurture their calling but would also inspire them to be positive change agents in the community – to be models of faith-based thinking, service, excellence, stewardship and social justice.
Parents and caregivers choose this school because we are helping to equip their children with essential skills, integrity and courage to wrestle with life’s most essential questions and to live fully into God’s purpose for their lives. They choose LCS because their kids are rooted and connected in a caring community.
God has since expanded our mission, inspiring the growth of LCS to become a welcoming learning community reflecting the diversity of the Fraser Valley’s families and churches. Today, the school serves over 1200 students from over 700 families and over 110 churches.
LCS alumni continue to have a purpose-driven impact in the greater community and the world.
Since we began, our school has been the home of thousands of graduates – proud alumni who continue to have a purpose-driven impact in the greater community and the changing world.

Growth & Planning
Write the vision
Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, that they may run who read it. (Habakkuk 2:2-3)
Our mission and reach continue to expand. We are currently working on a strategic plan for our schools and are moving forward with a refreshed vision for teaching and learning.
Our strategic plan will carry on the work of our board and society that began during the Growth and Development Committee process from 2017-2018.
Our Vision
Great Purpose. Greater Community.
A thriving Christian learning community, connected outward and inward, serving together as leaders to empower students to have an impact in a changing world.
