INTERNATIONAL STUDENT PROGRAM

WHY COME TO LCS?

LCS provides an accredited B.C. Education program in the core academics, and Advanced Placement courses in high school. Students can enroll in electives in the creative arts, trades and technology, media, engineering and robotics.

International students can expect smaller classes, more personal interactions and greater opportunities to learn English proficiency than is typically found at larger schools in the area.

“The opportunity to enrol students from other countries and cultures has added a richness and diversity to LCS. In the classroom and in host families, we have been enriched from learning about each other’s cultural perspectives and the the beautiful diversity that God has created in His people.”

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT PROGRAM

hOMESTAY pROGRAM

Our Homestay Program is one of the best parts of coming to school at LCS. International students are accepted as family into LCS homes, by caring and loving homestay parents.

Program Overview

Prepare for University

Students from Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea, Mainland China, Mexico and Brazil have been and continue to be an integral part of school life at Langley Christian. After graduation many of the students have gone on to universities throughout Canada and the USA.

English Support

Students receive ELL (English Language Learning) support based on their level of English proficiency. Students are tested to help teachers discover the best ways to help them succeed.

Family away from home

If students are here in Canada without their parents and are in Grade 8 and above; the International Program Coordinator carefully selects caring homestay families who are part of the LCS community.

Supportive Staff

Marlene Bylenga, the International Program Coordinator at LCS, provides support to students and parents as they make the transition into their new community.
