We’ve started off the year with a new expanded outdoor space! Thanks to the generous donations from our preschool families we now have three more mud kitchens added to an enlarged section of the “Mud Pie Cafe”. We also had some extra tires donated for a “Ninja Line” tire jumping course…because what preschooler doesn’t want to practice their ninja skills? A special thanks to Lucas’s Opa for his loving creation of our very own preschool bus. This addition is sure to be a hit with everyone and we can’t wait to see where it will take our preschoolers!
As with any addition we make to our learning spaces, your child’s safety and development is first and foremost in our minds. Open ended equipment and toys provide a space for all children to engage their imaginations for rich experiences with their peers. Cooperative play, turn taking, risk assessment, creative problem solving, and critical thinking are big skills that can be developed through play outdoors.
We tried something new at our preschool orientation this year, “Eye Spy with my Preschool Eye”. It was a huge hit! We loved watching our students new and old running around the outdoor space excitedly showing their parents all of the fun spaces they will be playing and learning in this year.
We look forward to a year of growing together in God’s amazing creation!
