Langley, BC — Langley Christian School is thrilled to announce the official opening of its new middle school campus, a transformative addition to the school’s multi-campus community. The state-of-the-art facility welcomed its first 319 students on September 9, 2026, marking the culmination of a decade-long vision.
The grand opening celebration was held on September 8, 2026, bringing together members of the LCS community, donors, local officials, and partners who made the project possible. Board Chair Sarah Friesen officially declared the middle school open, while speakers including Frank Wood (Director of Operations) and Dennis Martini (Project Leadership) shared remarks celebrating the building’s achievement and the power of community partnership. Middle School Principal Danny Nagtegaal also welcomed attendees to the new campus.
The evening honored the exceptional contributions of over 500 donors and the Capital Campaign Committee, whose members included Carey Bornn, Lisa Smit, Jim Heuving (chair), Peter Van Huizen, Petra Bontkes, Eric Paquette, Danielle Stevenson, Brady Ash, Trisha Bennett, Loretta Hibbs, Nhan Luu, and Melanie Folstad. Special recognition was given to the Board of Trustees for their 100% participation in the campaign and to Peter Van Huizen as the first major donor. Mayor Eric Woodward and Township of Langley staff were also recognized for their partnership throughout the building process.

Built with remarkable cost efficiency at just $465 per square foot, the new middle school represents exceptional stewardship of community generosity and strategic vision. The comprehensive facility features modern learning spaces, athletic facilities through the Lightning Athletics Centre, and purposefully designed outdoor gathering areas that serve the diverse needs of our student body.
This is a middle school like it was meant to be. A win for parents who want quality, faith-based education for their family. A win for families who believe parents and schools and churches and community should be a partnership.

The project reflects a remarkable community effort. Launched with a capital campaign goal of $13.6 million, the community’s unwavering support led to surpassing the goal in May 2026. The Board of Trustees gave 100% support from day one, and hundreds of donors stepped forward with exceptional generosity and faith.
When you mix construction experience, timely decision-making, educational foresight, and a clear understanding of cost and schedule, you can build an exceptional facility which will last generations. This building is a trophy for the build team and for the community that will use it.

The new campus will serve the approximately 1,400 students across LCS’s multi-campus K–12 community. With excellence in academics, athletics, and character development at its core, the middle school represents LCS’s commitment to providing transformative Christian education in the Fraser Valley.
