I am delighted to announce that we have secured the services of Danny Nagtegaal as the new Principal leading Langley Christian Middle School beginning in the fall of 2025. Danny will begin full time in the summer to start preparing for the transition to a new middle school campus 12 months later.
Langley Christian School equips generations of students to live bold lives of faith and purpose.

7 WAYS YOU CAN GIVE TO THE MIDDLE SCHOOL PROJECT
We accepted and screened over 30 very good applications from across Canada, the United States and internationally. Following interviews with 5 candidates, we conducted extensive reference interviews and off-site meetings with members of our SLT (strategic leadership team). We were impressed with Danny’s clarity of vision for formative Christian education and his ideas for reimagining middle years education in the new building he will be leading when the middle school campus moves in 2026.
His journey with LCS began 38 years ago when he first stepped through our doors as a kindergartener. As an alumni and parent of LCS students, Danny has remained deeply connected to the school. His love and passion for LCS was evident throughout our discernment process, and so we are excited to welcome him into this new role. This begins a new chapter in LCS middle years education as we prepare to say goodbye to Berkley Glazer, our middle school principal who is retiring after 18 years of service to LCS.

With over 20 years in Christian education, and successful experience as a dynamic middle school classroom teacher, Danny has also served in a variety of leadership roles at Surrey Christian School: athletic director, elementary vice principal, elementary principal, high school principal and interim superintendent. More recently, Danny has served as the Head of School and Principal at Hope Lutheran Christian School.
Danny holds degrees from Trinity Western University and Simon Fraser University, including a Master’s in Educational Leadership. Beyond his school leadership, he has contributed at the provincial and national levels as a board member for the Christian Principals Association of BC and Christian Schools Canada. Danny is committed to fostering strong relationships, guiding students in faith, and equipping them to thrive. His leadership and experience will be a tremendous asset to our leadership team, and we look forward to the impact he will make on equipping middle years learners for a life of bold faith and purpose in their lives.
I want to thank our principal search team led by Lori Carpenter, and supported by dozens of hours of prayerful and thoughtful contributions by Andrea Menary, Joyce Wang, Kevin Mirchandani, Doug Jensen and Joel Ditson. Their leadership and professionalism on this important decision was invaluable.
