At Langley Christian School, our goal is to help students develop a bold and confident faith, using their voice to serve. Speech Fest has become a community learning event that celebrates the courage, creativity, and conviction of our students. Whether addressing a classroom, a panel of judges, or a gymnasium filled with peers and parents, our students boldly shared their ideas, passions, and stories.

The Journey to the Stage
This year, students in Grades 4-8 wrote and presented speeches to their classes about topics that mattered to them as part of speech units. The top two speakers from each class moved forward to the grade level finals to present before a panel of judges. The top three finalists from each grade took the stage by presenting to a panel of judges from our community and a chapel audience. From there, the panel selected the winners.

Developing a Bold and Confident Voice
Writing and sharing speeches is about developing confident individuals who speak with clarity and compassion.
Communication skills, and the ability to relate to others has become even more important in an age of increasing artificial intelligence use.”
Adam WoelderS, Head of School
These learning experiences reflect our commitment to helping students live out core values of Connect, Thrive, and Equip. By working on the art of spoken word communication, our students are being prepared for the future.
As our students learn to express themselves, we are reminded of the power of voice and the importance of nurturing young people who speak truth with grace-filled integrity and live with purpose for God’s glory. We aren’t just teaching students how to deliver a speech; we are nurturing young people who speak with grace-filled integrity and live with purpose for God’s glory.

Congratulations to all of our participants for their courage and hard work. We can’t wait to see how you continue to use your voice to impact the world.
