The Langley Christian graduating student chosen must be enrolled in a university or technical program and must have attained a “B” or better average in each of Grades 11 & 12. The candidate must demonstrate outstanding contributions in leadership, citizenship, and extracurricular activities. The candidate must be of excellent character, with integrity, high moral standards, and respect for authority and peers. Preference will be given to students who have plans to study agriculture, agricultural business, animal or plant sciences, or veterinary studies.
Course Information and Resources
House Directors will be meeting individually with their grades 9-11 students in February to choose their courses. Please take time before that meeting to go though the course information links listed above. Grade 8s will be choosing courses along with a House Director in a future timeslot determined by the grade 8 teaching team.

APRIL – final work on timetabling and course selection choices will be confirmed by House Directors

Board of Directors Scholarship – Value: $2000
Centra Cares Scholarship – Value: $1000
Centra Cares is the charitable foundation of Centra Construction Group. Centra started as a small construction firm in 1984 and has grown to become one of the leaders in window manufacturing, building envelope, energy retrofit, and restorations in British Columbia. We supply and install windows, doors and siding throughout the province. One of Centra’s core purposes is to make a difference in the lives of our employee owners and the communities we live and work in. Centra Cares scholarship aligns with Centra’s values by giving back to the community and helping students achieve their career goals in construction.
Centra Cares is offering a scholarship to a student who is pursuing a career in construction (red seal trade certification, project management, estimation or construction business management).
Dave Alexander Memorial Scholarship – Value: $1000
Awarded annually to a graduating student who has shown commitment to the LCS music program through a variety of courses throughout their high school years (Choir, Concert Band, and/or Jazz Band). The student will have exemplified excellence and passion in their music courses, and consistently participated in music from grades 9-12. Preference will be given to a student entering a post-secondary music program. The recipient will be selected by the Music Director in collaboration with the Scholarship Committee.
David Folkerts Memorial Award – Value: $500
Head of Schools Scholarship | Leadership – Value: $2000
Infinity Heart & Soul Scholarship – Value: $2500
Awarded annually to a graduating student who is pursuing post-secondary education in the area of construction, with preference to those going into the field of Architecture, Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
$2500 will be awarded to a graduate entering either a degree or diploma program in the construction field (engineering, architecture, construction management etc.). Or $1,500 will be awarded for a graduate entering an apprenticeship program.
Jack Nagtegaal Memorial Award – Value: $2000
Awarded annually to the student who wishes to receive training in the trades. Preference will be given to those who can demonstrate financial need to complete the training.
Jeanne Richter Memorial Award – Value: $1500
Kingma Scholarship – Value: $3000
The Kingma Scholarship will be offered to a student who is pursuing a career in trades (Project Coordination, Project Management, Estimation, Red Seal Construction Certificates), or pursuing a career in Engineering or Business.
Kyle and Emile Memorial Scholarship – Value: $1000
LCS Staff Scholarship – Value: $1000
Matheson Family Foundation Scholarship – Value: $2000
Awarded annually to a graduating student who maintains a 75% average and who plans on attending a post-secondary institution in the area of business. Preference given to a student who demonstrates financial need. The student must be involved in a variety of extra-curricular activities.
PARENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE (PAC) SCHOLARSHIP – VALUE: $1000
Awarded annually to a graduating student pursuing post-secondary education, who demonstrates perseverance and hard work to achieve their success.
Ritchie Smith Feeds Scholarship – Value: $1000
Township of Langley Scholarship – Value: $1000
Student must be a Township of Langley resident.
Wes Geransky Memorial Award – Value: $4000
Awarded annually to the grade 12 student who best represents the goals of LCS. This person must show evidence of being a community builder, be serious about academics, be involved in leadership in and outside of the school community, be active in the extra-curricular program, have a heart of service, and must model a mature Christian walk. The award must be used for post-secondary studies. This award is by staff nomination only.
Wesmont Foundation Scholarship – Value: $2000
The Wesmont Foundation Scholarship will be offered to a student who is pursuing a career in trades (Project Coordination, Project Management, Estimation, Red Seal Construction Certificates), or pursuing a career in Engineering or Business.
Willem and Alice Colyn Memorial Alumni Scholarship – VALUE: $500
The purpose of the award is to encourage and reward the student who actively makes the most out of the various talents God has specifically given him/her while at LCS. The award is named after Dutch immigrants whose encouraging spirit and benevolence lives within the purpose of this award. The award is provided by their grandchildren, who are LCS Alumni. This award is by staff nomination only.
