The anticipation was lingering throughout the hallways for weeks prior to the first grad retreat in over two years. On Easter Monday, the grads who will be sent off to whatever God has in store for them in a couple of months, boarded two large yellow school buses for their 3 hour ride filled with laughter, snoring, sing-a-longs, and reminiscing of the time well spent. A ride which consisted of only one brief stop arrived down a dusty dirt road to an oasis of tranquility which would provide these maturing young adults with an opportunity to grow closer to God, and each other.
Their digs for the remainder of the retreat was a stunning, a remote location of lush landscapes of mountain ranges, and water bodies. What a place, the beauty was immaculate, the weather unpredictable. The trip consisted of every type of precipitation, major gusts of wind, and even hour-long stretches of beaming sunshine. Basketball, hockey, and volleyball were played, students stayed up extra late, Chapels went deep, bonfires built community, and hikes developed calf muscles. All in all it was a successful trip.
Thank you teachers and house directors for leading worship and speaking into the lives of our young adults.
Congrats Grads of 2022, you’re almost there.
