This week Langley Christian Elementary School presented Dr. Whoot’s Musical Adventure. The evening included performances from our entire student body and featured medleys from familiar musicals such as The Sound of Music, Annie, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Toy Story and Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat. Over 500 students performed in this year’s spring musical.

“Seeing my own kids go through the journey of learning the songs, to then experiencing the joy of performing them for hundreds of people was such a rich experience for them. I shed tears of appreciation and pride as I watched the performance last night.”

The performances were the culmination of months of hard work learning the songs and choreography as well as hours upon hours of set and costume design. As you walked the hallways these last few weeks you could feel the bubbling anticipation. It all burst onto the stage in colourful bundles of joy and energy as we were finally able to share our hard work with our families and friends.

A big thank you to everyone who helped in so many ways. We appreciate each and every one of you who made costumes, baked for our concession, volunteered to help at one (or more!) of the performances, and who came out to support our students! As well we would like to thank the planning team: Anita Wood, Odette Williams, Bethany Verwoerd, Karen Paquette, Niki DuRandt, and Janet Schaafsma for an amazing process and organization of this event and Matt for helping us run our sound and lighting!
