The annual Capstone Celebration Evening at Langley Christian School (LCS) was attended by about 650 students, staff members, family members and guests on April 10th. The various corridors of the high school were filled with 89 different solo Capstone projects where our soon-to-be-LCS-alumni worked on passion projects, reflected on their years of growth, developed new technologies, or created works of art, or tackled other areas of interest.
The evening was divided into two sections, including an initial showcase presentation by five different students, and a ‘science-fair’ style viewing of the remaining projects. The students are expected to put their knowledge and abilities into practices, and the Class of 2024 did not disappoint. Many students reflect that their Capstone project helps them develop practical skills, and is a useful experience that will help them in the next stages of life, the job market, or even their post-secondary journey.
As the evening came to a finish, the hallways continued to echo with discussion as students proudly shared their journey. For next year, we anticipate an even longer ‘science-fair’ portion to allow for even more sharing. The evening reminded us once again of the strength and unity within our LCS family as the Capstone event is a testament to the deep connections and unique gifts that are forged within our community.
To our graduating seniors, congratulations on reaching this milestone. You’ve made us immensely proud, and we can’t wait to see the impact you’ll make in the world. Remember, you will always have a home here at LCS.
To our parents and families, thank you for entrusting us with the education and spiritual development of your children. Your unwavering support has been instrumental in their success.
We pray that the Grads of 2024 remain rooted in faith, trusting in God’s guidance as they navigate the journey ahead.
